Shirley Payne opened Sophie
Joe's Emporium for business
for the first time on December
10, 2001.  At that time it was a
small shop with 5-10 dealers
max.  The popularity of
Shirley's creation skyrocketed
and Sophie Joe's currently
houses over 50 dealers at any
given time
and we have 5000
square feet of space filled with
an incredible selection of
wonderful things.  Our
management team consists of:
Shirley, Corrine, Cathy, Susan,
Rosie, Candi, Kate & Deb.  We
are staffed by our dedicated
dealers!

Sophie Joe's plays an important
role in our community as we
participate in charity events
such as The Festival of Trees at
holiday time.  Shirley won an
award from The City of St. Paul
for her beautiful flowers gracing
the storefront.  We also have
won a "Best of the Best" award
from Mpls/St. Paul Magazine.

Special events at Sophie Joe's
are a ball!  We are on the stop
lists for several different tours
that come around.  Whether it is
a shopping tour, a gardening
tour or a mystery tour we are
prepared with refreshments, a
promotion and much extra help
from our dealers so this
experience is both efficient and
fun!

Another type of event we can
do is private shopping parties.  
This is where one or two of our
customers  set a date and time
for their friends and family
members to gather at Sophie
Joe's for a special shopping
time.  There are refreshments
and a special promotion too!  
This is normally done after

regular store hours so the staff
and shop are dedicated to those
in the party.
